Former Employee – worked at Regis Corporation part-time for less than a year
Pros – Stable paycheck, possibility of benefits, paid vacation, holidays off, continuing education, schedule 3 weeks in advance, flexible, steady business, full size samples of new products, generous discounts (50% the first week of every month, 20% otherwise), contests
Cons – They move stylists up into management positions very quickly, low commission, late hours, sometimes high expectations with sales/goals (they are doable, though), weird rule changes all the time, the computers are super outdated.
Advice to Senior Management – Please raise the pay a bit. I worked for 8 months and was consistently on commission/made my goals. I won contests and always charged the appropriate prices. I made more money working as a cashier at Walmart than I did busting my butt for minimal pay.

Current Employee – been working at Regis Corporation part-time for more than a year
Pros – Vacation pay after a year.
A job you like to do with interest.
Free classes to extend skill.
Contest.
Point incentive.
Retail commission-walk in.
Cons – Pay per hour.
Dealing with cheap people.
Free classes are 2 hours away.
Mall hours.
Work All weekends.
Dress code strict for a mastercuts.
Advice to Senior Management – Cut us some slack. This is to management that does not include salon managers as they work their asses off for crap pay. Treat the girls with respect. The managment for Minneapolis, MN is not worth minimum wage pay.

Current Employee – been working at Regis Corporation full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – - in many ways, still retains characteristics of the small family-owned company it once was
- people at HQ are great - friendly and have a strong team effort across depts
- Sr Mgmt generally keeps you informed of what company is planning for improvements
- free Lunches from groceries provided in employee kitchens - if you like basic
Stuff like sandwiches, salads, etc.
-profit sharing replaces 401k match (.it's been pretty consistent and
Better than nothing!)
Cons – - lower pay than other companies its size
- company performance has been lackluster the past several years
- historically the company has reacted to issues, as opposed to well- executed strategies, which often results in inefficiency - they are working on this though - VERY HARD
Advice to Senior Management – -Provide opportunities for 360 reviews - there is no way for employees to safely report poor manager behavior
-get on top of planning strategies in advance, and get better about executing them across depts

Former Employee – worked at Regis Corporation full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – You do all hair types and you're in a busy location. Its a good salon to build your own clientle and to become confident with work. You dont have to pay rent, you dont have to buy products and or equipment. All you need is your license and your sissors. You get paid by the hour if you do not make commission.
Cons – The clients wont wait no longer than 20minutes. There is no receptionist and no walk phone. I was tired of leaving my client because I had to ring up retail and or answer the phone. you have to work every weekend. you have to work nights. the company keeps 60% of everything you earn. you get paid twice a month but you really get paid once a month because one check is advance pay. My fisrt year I made $14,000. Its really a dead end job if you think about you never gonna make enough money to survive there if you only want to be a Stylist.
Advice to Senior Management – Mangers are over worked and under paid I know they are streessed by that but don't take it out on your co-workers. Make sure you treat them with respect so they can help take aload off instead of adding to it,

Current Employee – been working at Regis Corporation full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Been with regis for 13 years and looking forward to much needed change in our industry,Been with the company to long to leave ,so we need to change things
Cons – Right now it seems the company is only worried about the customer experiance when coming into the salon. After 30+ years working in salons the real problem is there are alot of stylist that have no idea what they are doing. They are getting out of school with no idea how to even shampoo let alone how to cut hair..and we Regis owns the school.
Advice to Senior Management – the pay needs to be better so we can keep good stylist .We need a better way to find advancement in our company. They need someone that can go into every salon and make sure the managers can cut hair and do every service in the salon perfect. And someone to teach new stylist..as a busy manager I dont have time.
