Current Employee – been working at Riverbed Technology full-time
Pros – -Employees looked after very well (health care, life insurance, shares etc...)
-Ability for employees to venture out to different areas of the company and expand their horizons they see a need/niche
-Open door policy
Cons – -HR have been known to be a little shady when dealing with confidential situations. Approach carefully
-As with all companies, if you get a dodgy manager it can ruin your experiences. Unfortunately, Riverbed is not exempt from this as I have known of managers who play favorites. Room for growth can be limited
Advice to Senior Management – Implement several checks to ensure managers are making the correct decisions. Some decisions are passed through on the implication that the manager is doing what is best for RVBD, but this may not always be the case

exciting times as riverbed as they acquired several new businesses and developed new product lines in recent years. engineering competency here is strong and the new product lines are very agile. excellent social events in bay area
Cons – teething stage while riverbed is becoming a large organisation with product diversity , there is still a disconnect of knowledge with different product lines . expect frustration as they work through this

Good product .
Cons – No work-life balance.
Don't expect to work in "best place to work for" in bay area. It is just another company with no bells and whistles.

Former Employee – worked at Riverbed Technology full-time
Pros – Everyone is really focused on making customers happy, and customers tend to rave about quality & support. It's at the cusp of breaking into new markets with recent acquisitions, and it will be a fun place to be when all of the products start aligning really well together.
Cons – Riverbed has hit its adolescence. The stock price is currently down - maybe a plus if you're thinking about joining now - and is trying to figure out where to go from here. There's been some upper management turnover, which is always a little scary, but IMO they've hired in good new blood; it will just take a while for them to re-tune.

Former Employee – worked at Riverbed Technology full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Very smart people but without the egos. Nice people in all departments. Flexible work schedule and wasn't a sweat shop.
Cons – Has anyone ever received a raise at this company? Would like more formal training rather than just on the job, sink or swim. Not much opportunity for promotion.
Advice to Senior Management – Figure out a way financially compensate employees like a few years ago, when the company was growing.
