    Pros

The pay rate and shift work (4on/4off) allow for a balance in work and leisure. Making great working connections and experience within the mining industry.

    Cons

Long Hours, Hard work, respiratory issues, mainly casual employment (easily dismissed without notice) and equipment malfunction.

I have been working at SGS full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a good starting point for a Science grad not willing to embrace an academic career. Treat this like a paid internship.
    Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Hard to get a permanent position, unbalanced workload, lack of promotion prospects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward people not just with words and good people will stay.

I worked at SGS full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Huge cash reserves, Investor Confidence, Strong financial, Global presence, Diversified product portfolio

    Cons

Local Management in the hands of Incompetent people, Brother brings brother & friends culture, Management lackls vision, Employees are treated as trash, Want to put their fingers in too many pies but then dont know what to do next, Absolutely no trainings, No hierarchy in managemt

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Stop Discriminating!
-TOO MANY SILHOS. If an employee tries to breakdown SILHOS,,, they break that employee down.
-Create a Vision- Todays industry works on a Vision and Mission. Stop waiting for the phone to ring! If you have a Vision and a Mission, you automatically develop patience which can help you strategise.
-Stop running behind bonuses. Self-Centered approach as leadership chased it EOY bonus and can go to any extent to see that their coffers are filled.... something very well known within SGS.
-Meet Customers, understanding the founding principles of SGS and associate oneself (Management is unpassionate,
    -Create a uniform Salary structure.
-Stop Hiring family members and friends
-Managers need to go through proper training for understanding financial statements. STOP RIGGING UP NUMBERS
-Create a succession plan rather then pulling one from (A55) nowhere.
-Let HR run independently- SGS is one organisation where HR works and completely relies for its jobs on the operations management and will go any extent to please the powers that may be.

I have been working at SGS

    Pros

Friendly fun teammates, good to be there if you have good colleagues

    Cons

Management freeloading employees, salary increment structure is non-existent, we're just numbers to them (if you don't like it, you can just quit)

I worked at SGS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Working at SGS is like being part of a global family, where your team is typically spread across time zones. If you like foreign cultures, this is the place to work. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

Too much decision-making is centralised in Geneva, not enough in the regional hubs. Sales + marketing teams need to work closer together.

    Pros

Company cares about its employees, teaches you how to grow in business and in life . Working for SGS has literally been life changing for me . I consider you lucky if they even interview you .

    Cons

If I had to pick one , because I need a 20 word minimum , I guess the parking lot is too small

I have been working at SGS full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Corporate culture is great. Lots of training available for everyone interested

    Cons

Jobs can become mechanical in the long run and career forward movement is staggering. Despite all the training attended, it doesn't always translate to a career. There's an invisible ceiling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's a good idea to see the staff as more than just commodities that cost the company.
