    Pros

In some parts of the organization, there is some innovative work happening. You feel part of some great work on the ground and making a real difference in the lives of children. Depending on the type of contract you have, the salary and benefits can range from excellent to average. Good career opportunities within the organization.

    Cons

Save the Children is still recovering from their global restructuring in recent years. There is poor communication and cooperation among country office and member and program countries and the global systems to improve this are still forming. Member countries often do not understand well the contexts of various program countries and therefore provide unhelpful and sometimes hurtful support to program offices. Its not a very 'mission' and values driven organization.

    Advice to Management

Provide open feedback mechanisms for country offices. For example, program offices should be able to provide feedback on member country technical support. Focus on culture and context based programming. One size does not fit all and we need to move beyond this mindset.
