    I worked at Schneider (less than a year)

    Pros

    * Worked with me on scheduling conflicts.
    * No slip seating
    * Decent facilities.
    * Allowed me, a fairly new driver at the time, to gain valuable experience, while knowing I had someone with years of experience just a phone call away.

    Cons

    This is a B-I-G company, and as such, suffers from some of the impersonal characteristics ALL big companies suffer from; you never forget you are a number in their system.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Spend a few bucks to have trucks scrubbed out before assigning them to a driver. When I first got assigned my truck, I spent four hours degreasing door panels, dash, steering wheel, cabinets, walls, storage bins... at least, I hope it was just grease; kind of a bad first impression if you think about it.

    I have been working at Schneider full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    The company culture is positive and energetic. Management is helpful and effective. The training program is better than any company I have ever worked for. Even with little previous transportation experience, you are able to hit the ground running after one month of training.

    Cons

    You have to be an expert at dealing with cold calls and rejection the majority of the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The best managers focus on providing transportation solutions and listening to their teams.

    I have been working at Schneider full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Good atmosphere for the most part, you do have your general office chatter and politics like any other office, but if you can make a few friends and focus on your job its a great place to work. You interact with teams of many different departments to get situations resolved. There's much knowledge to be gained both for the industry and how to make your job easier by taking notes.

    Cons

    Office Politics, that's about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Send your managers to a Leadership class so they can utilize actual leadership skills.
