ProsLearn and establish so many skills that you can use for any career path.
You can earn a good paycheck as well as a week long incentive trip to luxurious destination.
Surround yourself with other motivated, initiative-taking people.

ConsWork long, stressful hours (70-80+).
Have to really be careful with your expenses (because you pay for them all).
No life over the summer except for work.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't recruit everyone that is willing to do the job.

ProsSouthwestern does not guarantee your success after college, but it cultivates it within the students that work with them through a challenging summer sales program. There is no better program for those looking for personal growth, tremendous financial gain, and an experience that will pay off in countless ways down the road.

ConsSouthwestern presents students with a very challenging oppurtunity through the means of direct selling. Consequently, through the challenge a lot of insecurities about one's self come out of the woodwork. It is natural for people to avoid their insecurites and be comfortable, in order to grow and achieve greatness requires working through frustrations.

Pros- Southwestern's goal is to build character in young people. This experience exposes you to every success habit you need to succeed in any industry. On top of that, the inherent independence that comes with the job gives every student a real opportunity to ingrain those habits as a part of their life.
- unbelievable culture of positive people focused on helping each other grow. From the president and CEO all the way down to the student salespeople.
- one of the best undergraduate sales training in the nation (155 year old program)
- extremely hard work but because of that it is extremely rewarding if you stay committed
- great chance to make money to help off set rising college tuition
- from the top down, CEO and president included, all management sold as independent contractors when they were in college. Because of that the leadership is unbelievable.

Cons- It's definitely not for everyone. You must have an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to set yourself apart from your peers. If you don't work extremely hard and you aren't committed, this job is quite frankly, miserable. The harder you work the more fun and the more rewarding it is.
- No guarantees. But just like anything in life, you get what you put into it.

Advice to Senior Management- keep it up.

ProsPersonal Growth.
Understanding People
The most true form a leadership a person can learn
Learning how to run a buisness
Learning about the world of success
Networking in the most personal way possible
Learning how to have true influence
Becoming part of a community you will be effected by for the rest of your life
Gaining incredible life and business mentorship
Accelerating your life
Gaining gusto
Building character
Truly understanding the importance of your word
Finding incredibly successful like minded peers that you will have for the rest of your life

ConsWork-Life Balance is doable but very difficult to make a career out of it.
The profits from recruiting are more personal growth than financial in the first few years, but you could not pay any school to learn what you do through learning how to recruit.
Chalenging if you do not get yourself mentally prepared.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou guys are some of the most inspirational people this world has to offer, and what you do is a great thing.

It's a great resume booster.
