I have been working at Standard Chartered Bank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very good training, Learning experience, Work life balance, Facilities, Subsidised staff loan rates

    Cons

Internal HR policies that discourage internal promotions and growth. An internal promotion will not give you the next grade and salary until almost an year has passed in the new role, whereas a externally recruited person will get the same immediately and probably with a higher salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotion based salary increments should not be restricted by policy to a maximum percentage, it should be open for industry average. Improve on the very lengthy internal HR review and screening process.

    Cons

Medical Insurance from NextCare is the worst thing about working for SCB UAE.

Change the employee medical insurance company to Alico or some such sensible company.
Too many people from one particular nation are recruited which is making the place start to look like a mafia.
