Current Employee – been working at SunGard full-time for more than a year
Pros – Best learning experience of my life.
Good work life balance.
I have been lucky to have good managers.
Chance to work on good technologies. That again depends on you if you choose to adopt new technologies and grow technically or want to use same old legacy stuff.
OK salary structure. Good bonus payout
Cons – Slow in decision making.
Slow in adopting new technologies. This applies to all product based companies of this size.
Faster release cycles.
Clear technology road map.
Advice to Senior Management – Slow in adopting new technologies. Need to be swift in decision making.

Pros – initial pay package !! nothing else
Cons – Very unprofessional people.Old junk think they are some kind of genius which they are not. They think company is their personal property.Complete miscommunication between different Business Units.Managers treat their subordinates as slaves.Have seen many good people forced to leave due to the mismanagement of their seniors. The company has a no bench policy so people are kicked out once they are on bench. No onsite at all !

Current Employee – been working at SunGard full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Very flexible work environment with relatively low workload stress. A lot of freedom in day-to-day work. Still staffed by good people at the ground level.
Cons – Work environment has slipped since the last re-org (from groups by product to groups by function). Some groups are mired in contention over which group is really in charge. Products that aren't growing aren't providing growth opportunities for employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Refocus on the fundamentals - find problems customers will pay us to solve and solve them.

Current Employee – been working at SunGard full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Immediate team is smart and a pleasure to work with
Cons – Lack of focus. Runs as a bureaucracy e.g. IT Dept has shut down R & D initiatives because the platforms needed were not already on approved list , and so were many of the needed components in the tool chain.

Current Employee – been working at SunGard full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – There are no pros to working here...
Cons – Low salaries, no opportunity for advancement, poorly developed software solutions, management team that is not open to new ideas, micro-management from the top down.
Advice to Senior Management – Open your eyes. When you speak of operating under the guise of best practices, you need to realize that employees that have been in the company for 30 years have no sense of best practices. Open up the door to new ideas and insights before you tank the company with your controlling silo's and your micro-management.

Current Employee – been working at SunGard full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great benefits - generous vacation policy. They seem to have finally heard the complaints of a dissatisfied workforce and are making changes for the better.
Cons – Low wages and no raises. No opportunities for upward movement. Both of these are driven by our continual loss of customers to competitors.
Advice to Senior Management – Quit reorganizing; Focus on Customer Service and new products. Stop nickel and diming. How hard should it be for a developed to acquire a $25 piece of software that will enhance productivity.
