Good place to work, nice work life balance

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Pune (India)

    ProsGood work environment
    Flexible timing
    Moderate salary offered
    No compulsion on PF
    Medi-claim Policy is good

ConsThere could be some improvement in cafeteria.
The food quality served is not really good.
Flat structure of the organization may not seem really great for people moving from Services industry.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe training and certification programs should be more encouraged within organization.
Generic certifications should also be valued while assessments.

Worst company I have ever worked for - Do not waste your time working here

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Maidenhead, England (UK)

Pros- Good pay and bonus (especially if you can sustain lots of overtime)

    Cons- Unrealistic work expectations
    - Mostly no, little or merely self-study if training courses are not scheduled soon making it difficult to perform well during the project
    - Projects are under-resourced
    - No growth strategy
    - Products are a hard-sell unless Tibco is the only vendor on the table
    - HR unsupportive to employees
    - Very political environment where, unless careful, you may be blamed for others' mistakes
    - No work-life balance - was expected to do significant overtime including bank holidays (Christmas and New Year) working over 12 - 13 hours a day including weekends for nearly 2 months. Management could not care less about your overtime as long as the delivery is made.

Advice to Senior Management- Provide appropriate training prior to projects if the individual does not have the necessary knowledge and experience together with some mentoring during the project by someone experienced
    - Resource projects with the necessary employees

    Not people focussed

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Maidenhead, England (UK)

ProsAgile, entrepreneurial, flexible. Good software products. If you like working as a stand alone individual then a good environment.

ConsFull of politics across European office, very hierarchical, driven by US decision making. Unfriendly. Unsupportive office environment. Everyone disliked working there. Very little focus on training and development of people. Probably different if you work in the offices in the US though...

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on clarifying EMEA management decision making hierarchy and plan to train and develop people.

    ProsThere are Some good people

ConsNo rewards for working hard, the pay rise and bonuses are always below average.
    Company structure is horrible.
Facilities is below average for a large company.
Below average people, no technically stimulating culture.

Awesome, best experience in my career. Hear TIBCO has changed a lot since I left though.

Product Marketing Manager (Former Employee) Palo Alto, CA (US)

ProsGreat management, lot of trust and independence and a true meritocracy. Lot of opportunity to grow and learn and explore roles without hard titles.

ConsTop management did change a lot and lot of people left the company as a result. Also seems like the company is not too keen to go big, so much as there is opportunity to step to the next level, doesn't seem like the company is going places. Not much work-life balance, but work is super enjoyable.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire a new CEO.

    Good company to work

Technical Architect (Current Employee) Pune (India)

ProsOpen culture, smart people to work with. Good plans for growth for techie. Good work life balance. Decent compensation. Flexible in terms of working hours, work from home. Free snacks. Ping Pong and other recreational activities available.

ConsFocus on delivering quality has reduced a little over time.

Advice to Senior ManagementPresently the hiring policy is adhoc. Need to have stricter criteria before hiring individuals to ensure product deliverables meet quality standards that can enable it to stay ahead of the competiton.

    Excellent People, Great Products

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsEveryone is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated. You have the opportunity here to work on very big and interesting solutions. The company is big enough to compete with anybody, but small enough that it is possible to move quicker and be more responsive to customers. Also, best corporate cafeteria ever!

ConsDevelopment teams are geographically dispersed, often making it difficult to coordinate across time zones. Engineering is under-staffed relative to the product goals set forth.
