    Pros

Mostly everyone are great to work with, will work with your schedule.

    Cons

POOR pay, not the greatest training, HIGH turnover, pressured to pressure customers for credit cards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Multi-tasking. You get to work all over the store.

    Cons

The pay $7.25/hr. There is no way to advice. Everyone is part-time so they won't have to give you benefits. A employee who worked for the company 8+ years only received a $1 raise.

    Pros

Retail associate job is a great job to get started in customer service since all jobs require some type of it.

    Cons

Not many hours given even to those who have worked in the retail stores for many years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be aware of your actual hard workers and the ones who slack. Giving hours to workers who slack than the ones who work hard will only hinder your store.

    Pros

if your career back ground is going to be retail this is a good place to start. Very informative how it works and comes together.

    Cons

The company makes changes that makes any sense then they come back and ask the employees imput instead the other way around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let a regular employee sit in on some of the start up meetings with upper management to give feed back. We are the ones who do the jobs on a daily basis. Who would know better than us how things are going.

I worked at TJX Companies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Outstanding people to work with who want to do what's right for the business. Good compensation and benefits with decent annual raises depending on your review.

    Cons

The company pays general associates very minimal hourly salary resulting in constant turn-over of workforce. Good hard-working associates leave for better paying jobs doing the same thing. This adds more to your plate with little to no support from the so-called Training and Development Manager. Very common for managers to have a difference of opinion on how certain freight should be processed causing inconsistencies/inefficiency between shifts handling merchandise differently. They really push standardization but often go in different directions based on the way your boss thinks it should be done. Opportunity for growth within the company even if you don't know what you're doing. Knowledgeable/tenured individuals were given a shot at the next promotable position only to be knocked back down when other far less experienced people were automatically promoted into the same position without a trial period.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your first-line supervisors more...they are your mouthpiece doing all they can to get buy-in from the backbone of your operation. A slight increase to pay for general associates would make a huge impact and show that you really do appreciate what they do instead of a measly $25 gift card that they have to use at the same company they work for.

    Pros

Predictable, unchallenging, routine, probably opportunities to advance if you plan to stick around long enough and are remotely qualified or competent.

    Cons

Unfriendly coworkers, supervisors are in constant power struggles with each other. Employees are not trusted and have no input for scheduling.

I have been working at TJX Companies full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It is easy work to do, the warehouse is located right of RT 93. People are somewhat friendly. They do offer health insurance and all employees benefit from the employee discount at all of their stores.

    Cons

Compensation is low. Most of their hire help comes from temp agencies. The temps basically get paid the same as the perm employees. Not too flexible when it comes to taking time off that you have earned.
The warehouse is one of the dirtiest places I've worked taking in consideration that they handle edible goods, items for babies and clothing.
There are no female managers at their warehouses.
