ProsGreat perks, nice people!
Free money to put towards the purchase of your summer holiday for all staff is a bonus.

ConsThere are offices in Luton and in Coventry. They might as well be different companies. Only apply for jobs in Luton.

Advice to Senior Managementopportunity is slow to develop, people tend to get a little stuck and leave. Ok if you are not in a rush!

ProsYou're constantly learning about new destinations for travel. Once in a while you can take advantage of a good travel deal.

ConsSenior management does not support or provide enough resources to allow employees to do a great job. Staff is overloaded and overworked, resulting in low morale.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your regular employees better; they are the ones making memorable trips happen for employees. Treat employees with respect and compensate them appropriately.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at TUI Travel

Pros* Great work/life balance
* Fast entry-level career advancement
* Generally good benefits and perks
* Travel

Cons* Expected to work long hours with little reward
* Difficult to move horizontally to different departments or to senior positions
* Many divisions not aligned
* High staff turnover

Advice to Senior ManagementThe constant cost-cutting but increasing KPI targets is extremely taxing and demotivating.

Classic example of a big company that can't get out of its own way

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Crawley, West Sussex, South East England, England (UK)

I have been working at TUI Travel

Prosthe travel industry overall is interesting and TUI is the market leader in Europe. Get to meet and work with interesting and colourful people from around the world.

ConsVery old school, hierarchy system. Hyper political environment that makes for many miserable days of dealing with utter nonsense. A classic case of working in a big corporate machine and feeling like a "number", rather than a person.

Advice to Senior ManagementInspire your team with a vision and truly empower and incent the people you have to make a real difference in the company. You'll be amazed at what they will accomplish.

Great work environment, fun people to interact with

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at TUI Travel

ProsFriendly staff, interesting job meeting many new people every day. Head staff is always willing to help you out and you never need to be afraid to ask for anything. Very flexible in work hours

ConsMostly part time staff, you can't make a living only doing this job, ships do not come in every day. Sometimes travel is a hassle to get there.

Tui Travel

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at TUI Travel

ProsSpacious and modern working environment.

ConsA bemoth of a company too big to run efficiently. Waste is rife and governance and controls severly lacking for a FTSE100. Change takes forever and in many areas there is no apetite for it.
