Former Employee – worked at Tech Data full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The role depends on the line you're on. Some are more high call volume than others. I didn't have high call volumes, but a lots of orders. The pay is fair. Management also depends on what line you are on.
Cons – Advancement is difficult, and sometimes you get stuck on a team. End of quarter, you are expected to stay VERY late, sometimes past 1am, and also be expected to come in at your same time the next day.
Advice to Senior Management – Do more frequent reviews and have more structured guidlines.

Former Employee – worked at Tech Data full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Benefits start from day one. Good infrastructure as opposed to other business in the Tampa Bay area.
Cons – They know they have a good infrastructure compared to other companies in the Tampa Bay area. Because they are "Self aware,",they think they have your ass over a barrel.
Advice to Senior Management – They won't listen. You open your mouth and offer advice they see that as a threat and you will be put on a plan that is impossible to get off. You can perform your job perfectly and follow a plan verbatim and they will still fire you. I was not fired but I saw this done. The management are cowards and crooks.

Current Employee – been working at Tech Data full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – I can't speak to the Clearwater campus as I work in another location. These are the most friendly, accommodating people I have ever worked with. This includes management. The company goes further to make an employee feel appreciated than any place I have ever worked.
Cons – Not the best wage I have ever had, but the pros more than make up for that.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep on keeping on.

Former Employee – worked at Tech Data full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Learn basic selling of over 100 vendor lines
Cons – Pay your best and hard working employees.
Lack of recognition to their best employees.
Does not allow BYOD - Really? In this day in age?
Technology company that uses outdated technology for internal use.
The only company I work for where Year over Year your paycheck gets smaller.
Strict and controlling company.

Former Employee – worked at Tech Data full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Salaries are competitive and while I worked on the "business side" I was afforded ample opportunity for growth and allowed to develop tools that helped make my job and my teammates' jobs easier.
Cons – IT Department takes tremendous pride in NOT spending it's training budget. When we requested training, we were told to "buy a book" even though the training was essential for my team to grow into new opportunities. IT suffers from a "done is better than perfect" mentality that results in the users getting much less than they actually need, and applications that sit unused for years because they don't meet the requirements of the business.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire Business Analysts to ensure that IT meets the needs of the actual users and make departments use their training budgets to train people.

Former Employee – worked at Tech Data full-time
Pros – Most people are great to work with. Pay seems competitive, not so sure about medical benefits.
Cons – Like many large companies, everyone is doing more (or in some cases, a lot more) with less. Quality suffers, as does morale.
Advice to Senior Management – I can't say anything that hasn't been said before to the management team, and they're not the ones reading this, anyway.
