Current Employee – been working at Travelers Companies full-time for less than a year
Pros – Great financial company, underwriting discipline, subject matter expert resources.
Cons – This is the way we've always done it mentality. Paper files, PAPER FILES still. Almost no focus on process improvement. Very cheap on employee perks (outside of your standard benefits) i.e. break room has a sink and fridge only.

Former Employee – worked at Travelers Companies full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Low risk, low chance of layoffs. Comfortable work environment and decent benefits.
Cons – Limited advancement opportunities, high turnover of motivated young employees recruited out of college once they build a decent resume. You need to get creative and network in order to advance... take ownership of your career and decide where you want to end up (are you OK topping out at Sr. Account Executive, Sr. Claims Adjuster, etc., or do you want to aim higher?)
Advice to Senior Management – Take a look at the retention of UPDPs and other young professionals at the 3-5 year mark... some of the best talent leaves the company.

Former Employee – worked at Travelers Companies full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Travelers seems to be a stable company with a split headquarters in Hartford. Travelers provides competitive benefits. There are many employees who have been there a long time, and still have good values and work attitudes.
Cons – Employees are over worked and are having a tendency towards finger pointing in order to save their 'reputation', as there is alot of back stabbing going on. Attitudes are getting very negative
Advice to Senior Management – Have more skip level meetings to learn about middle and lower management.
