Former Employee – worked at U.S. Bank full-time for more than 3 years

ProsStrong company with good products, seems to be growing steadily. Stock improved significantly from my hire date.

ConsManagement was too quick to look away from ethical issues as long as sales were growing. Understandable that sales are the primary focus, but brushing unethical behavior under the rug because sales are the focus is not acceptable.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't just talk about the importance of ethics, actually enforce it.

Columbus, OH (US)

Former Employee – worked at U.S. Bank full-time for more than a year

ProsGreat education and training opportunities. Promotions and cross training and moves between different functional areas are very accessible.

ConsSeems to be trending more and more to a sales driven culture at the expense of outstanding service and doing what is best for the customer. Limited presence in central Ohio and limited advertising/promotion.

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove compensation. Compensation quality should match organization quality. Re-examine some products and policies that are not necessarily in the customers best interests but are in place simply as high revenue sources....overdraft policies, payday advances, check deposit by phone fees.

Minneapolis, MN (US)

Current Employee – been working at U.S. Bank full-time for more than a year

ProsUS Bank is a solid, financial stable company with solid, strong executive leadership. It supports a good work/life balance. US Bank is a great supporter of the community and encourages employees to volunteer by provided paid time off.

ConsSalaries start out low but if you get promoted, you have opportunities to get bigger bonuses.

Advice to Senior ManagementJust speaking to my department, not the executive level, managers do not groom you for the next level or explain what skills/experience they are looking for. Managers need to provide more feedback to employees.
