    Pros

Lots of training and professional development opportunities. My position was tied to being a student, however, so my hours were limited as were my prospects for advancement.

    Cons

As only a part time position, I found no cons in work-life balance or time off policies.

    Pros

Nice place to study and work at
Good and knowledgeable professors to learn from
Waterloo is very quite and peaceful city to live as a student.....you will find much time to work and study as the city has no attractions

    Cons

You may not have Work/Life Balance as you always need to work harder to prove yourself
The city has no nice places/attractions for family with children ... you will need to drive 1.5 hrs to visit Toronto to have some fun there

    Pros

University of Waterloo is one of the best universities in North America being constantly ranked first as the most innovative Canadian university.
It has a huge campus and great facilities with most of the labs and classrooms being modern and well maintained.
You get to see people from all over the world getting together and enjoying undergrad life. Courses are demanding, time consuming and challenging, but you have the satisfaction of being part of a high end environment.

    Cons

Tuition might be higher compared to other universities, but it offers the co-op terms so that one can earn money while studying.

  10. An extremely positive experience which promotes and supports continual learning opportunities for its employees.

    Pros

Its great to work with professionals who are leaders in their field, and learn a lot as a result. The flexibility is excellent in terms of achieving a work- life balance.

    Cons

It can be fast paced, stressful environment at times. People tend to work in silos at times. There are limited opportunities for actual advancement within the department, thereby causing good people to look elsewhere eventually.

    Advice to Management

It would be ideal to diminish the division between faculty and staff.

  11. Great university

I have been working at University of Waterloo

    Pros

Great place to work at. Lots of learning opportunities and interaction opportunities with other graduate students. Academic environments are more relaxed in general.

    Cons

Lots of hours marking assignments and supervising or proctoring exams. Some undergraduates are not passionate about their classes which makes the task of reaching them boring and meaningless. The salary is good however graduate students pay a lot of tuition.

    Advice to Management

    Increase salary.
