I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Fun working environment, great co-workers. 30% discount, cross training offered and encouraged. fun meetings, free merchandise when new products are launched.

    Cons

Low Pay, Only full time hours offered to managers. On-call days. Promotions -- but not raises?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Great management in my experience.

This was a great job, the only problem was the pay and the hours were not enough to sustain it as a career. If these were better I would have stayed for a long time, possibly permanently if there was a management opportunity available.

You are able to cross train, if you want to learn something, they will train you the next day.

I was given a promotion, but I was never given a raise? I'm not sure why that was the case..doesn't really compute for me? You are given automatic raises every year, which was nice...They were usually 25 cents. Very flexible for college students or people who have other jobs...It really is a great part - time job, I wish that I didn't quit, plus the discount was nice.

Overall it was a positive experience. I learned valuable skills that I believe have helped me get various other jobs.

I got scheduled against my availability, and we had call in shifts so you never know if you have work til the day of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't schedule people against their availability, try not to be like caddy teenage girls and show favoritism.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The company wants you to know its products—they give employees gratis & discounts so that they know & love the inventory. They also provide benefits. Really good experience; I feel I understand the operations behind a retail store.

    Cons

Very competitive among some associates depending on position. People have selling goals and this causes problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to stress that associates should work as a team to better run the store together. The competitive atmosphere is causing cattiness.
