    Pros

-easy to pick up hours as a cashier
    -slightly above minimum wage

    Cons

    -walmart rewards MasterCard
-same thing every day working cash
-employer does not work around schedule
-you are scheduled 12 hours a week and have to switch or pick up shifts
-no benefits for part time staff
-they imply that you can move up but they don't take the time to show you how to apply internally until you are working there a long time

I worked at WalMart Canada full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

10% discount. Short term employment only. Minimum wage. Different positions. You will have some great co workers and they will help you.

    Cons

No place to advance. Head office has no clue what's going on store level. Too many managers promoted without any considerations. Not a place for a career

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your heads deflated. Stop treating associates like garbage. Stop with with credit card stuff people are sick of it.

I worked at WalMart Canada part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There are some very hard working employees. Like meeting people.

    Cons

Does not support or care for employees, just get the work done. The stakeholders bonus has dropped substantially. I was there for 10 years, they don't try to keep the good ones.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the problem and address it, hard to have a good business if the employees r not happy. Too bad the company doesn't train the person for management position, instead of just accepting them for that. The open door policy is a joke!!!!! The department manager just made the environment worse to work in once I addressed a problem.

I have been working at WalMart Canada full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Getting job is easy.
    Flexible schedule.
    Discount on purchases from walmart.
You can take leave without informing and they are going to arrange another person in place of you. :-)

    Cons

    No concept of managment.
Never make an employee permanent even after probationary period.
No value for good work and no fine or coaching for bad work. If you can make them fool, you are gold.
Unlimited work for entire shift hours, no slow time, always speed. And if you have less work, you cant get it easy because they are going to make sure next time you have so much work you cant breath during shift...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Dont give supervisors all authority.
Make employee permanent after probationary period, atleast full time employees who work hard daily.

I have been working at WalMart Canada full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some very good people working for them, you create some good friendships

    Cons

Other than friendships this company is all over the place, can't quite get it right with how they handle freight, associates etc....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen, follow-up. If you want it done right maybe show everyone how to do it not just expect them to do it without proper training. There is a lot of double standards going on, Management expects the rules to be followed but they are not following them.
