    Pros

Rewarded appropriately for efforts and results. Lots of different opportunities available.

    Cons

Location in Michigan is remote and very cold in the winter. Most career options require relocation to Michigan or relocation every few years.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on driving speed and encouraging risk taking by your team members.

    Pros

Stable work, overtime sometimes, health insurance, even though it is at an outrageous cost and doesn't cover much.

    Cons

My job turned into a three man job and I could not keep up with it. The bosses "listened" to my complaints when they would write me up over it, but they did nothing to ease the workload. When I took over the position, there was 75% less work to be done. The job either needs 2 or 3 men working daily, or two shifts working it daily. When one of the main managers went on medical leave, the department ran much more efficiently with the substitute, and that gentleman actually listened.

I was a good employee but apparently they didn't want me to hit retirement age, and I was let go after 3 weeks shy of hitting 19 years of service. My wife cannot work at this time because she is recovering from back surgery, so this job loss has completely devastated us.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, and when they tell you the job requires more help, don't add more work to them that is for you, then fire them when you decide they're not keeping up.
