I have been working at Workday full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great Pay
    Travel Opportunities
    Fantastic product
Great internal software eg; skype, salesforce etc

    Cons

Terrible culture - they will go behind your back and lie to you. There is no transparency or honesty
Global company - very confusing different rules in different locations
No freedom or autonomy - you will be under the microscope and micro managed over pointless irrelevant things
Lack of confidence in company brand - the company is petrified and does not trust their sales reps to sell their software
    No feedback ever given
Does not care about sales results or performance - I did 200% of my quota and was still out on a performance improvement plan

    Advice to Management

For starters I recommend to management that if they have a problem with somebody they do not fear confrontation. Management seem to throughly enjoying going behind others backs and nobody appreciates it and it solves nothing. Rather than offering employees stock bonuses I recommend creating a culture of honesty and integrity. Stop focusing on the little minor things like spelling mistakes in an email report and start focusing on driving results.

    Pros

The core of Workday is collaboration not competition. Everyone is interested in seeing the company succeed and by extension seeing team members succeed. There isn't as much of a 'what's in it for me' mentality when approaching others for assistance.

    Cons

Because the company is growing so quickly processes can sometimes lag behind the needs and it can be difficult to identify the proper resources.

    Advice to Management

Would give you all 5s if there was 401k matching. That is the biggest drawback in the overall package.

    Pros

The product is best-in-class and the rest of the landscape knows it. Most people who work here are genuinely good people who work hard but understand the need for work/life balance.

    Cons

The rest of the market is spending a ton to catch up. This means lots of pressure to perform and some people "changing roles" when they don't.

    Advice to Management

Don't compare our products to our competitor's and say "good enough" when we are better than the standard they have set. There are still a lot of improvements that can be made, and we need to continue to define the standard rather than just try and beat the status quo.

    Pros

Great Software and very well designed.

    Cons

Top of the range pricing with little room to negotiate.

Architecture pushed down the throats of all prospects whether they are interested in it or not. Makes you look arrogant.

Lack of business professionals in pre sales leads to little understanding of the prospects requirements. This leads to high level sales pitches and you are encouraged not to go into any detail in the sales cycle.

Over ambitious sales targets in Europe leading to high turnover in sale reps.

    Advice to Management

Don't sell like Americans in Europe.

    Pros

    - Amazing challenges and huge opportunity to build solutions that scale.
    - Great management which has a vision and direction for the company
    - Work/Life balance is excellent; the company is very family focused.
    - If you're a high contributor, near unlimited potential for opportunities and promotions. Lots of opportunity to get promoted, or move to other teams.
    - Large deployment of scrum/agile has yielded a workplace with low interruptions and a high focus on delivering products.
    - Low politics for a company of this size
    - Pleasanton campus is really growing, up to 5 or 6 building at the time of this review. It's a great (physical location) place to work! We offer bikes to get around campus, and to the Stoneridge mall!

    Cons

    - Relationship focused, you really need to connect with others to make the most of your time working here. If you don't do well connecting with others or working in teams, your mileage may vary.
    - Parking on campus can be difficult, if you come in after 10am.

    Advice to Management

    - Continue to invest in Employee programs; I personally love the Breakfast events that takes place every summer!
    - Continue to push a culture of low politics; it's working.
