I worked at Xerox full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Stable, salary on time. Relatively flexible hours.

    Cons

Company has lost its ability to lead and generate new. Each group is on it's own. Top management does not communicate to the company in person. Dull office. No management rotation in years. No internal competition. No clear strategy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen. Learn. Give opportunity. Lead, not micro manage.

    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Xerox full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It is a good company to work for with stability and great pay for easy work.

    Cons

They seam to pick facilities which always look a little run down and not cosmetically appealing.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent Atmosphere, fairly flexible managers. Good place to learn the ropes.

    Cons

Salaries, what seems like an eternal pay-freeze. General appreciation of staff is low (almost non-existing benefits, no company parties, etc.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate tacit knowledge, experience is walking out the door and that's causing damage.

    Cons

Inexperience of management and they do not evaluate the processes they put in place.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I had a number of career opportunities, and was promoted several times. I was warned by my manager if I turned down a promotion, I would never get another opportunity. Good health benefits from the start.

    Cons

Pay for my mid-level management job was OK, but frankly not competitive with others in the same business. I regularly had good workers quit when offered a better salary. Training was rare. When I was first promoted, I asked about training, and he told me to "hit the ground running, and only call me if there is a problem."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Career planning with real future opportunities laid out in front of you would be a good motivator.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Xerox still has good employees that care and work hard. Still has great name recognition.

    Cons

Micro management and no raises in 5 years. Upper management no regard for the "lower level" employees. Outsourcing common.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start caring for your employees. Stop taking raises at the top and ignoring the main line workers. Make people feel like they have a career path. Show a clear direction, Services vs. Technology.
