    Mistreatment of employees.

I have been working at Xerox as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

I working an excellent account with a lot of young professionals who usually get along and work tremendously well together.

    Cons

No one of importance sees your value as an experienced Graphic Designer. It takes a minimum of 18 months of even discuss the possibility of becoming a full-time permanent Xerox employee- if you're lucky enough to by-pass the 'mandatory' 12-month Xerox Temp position. They also do not play anything close to market value of a seasoned professional. It's very unfortunate.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

My coworkers we wonderful despite the immense pressure that we worked under. Pay was decent for the area I was employed.

    Cons

There was a huge discrepancy between the espoused corporate values and the behavior of management. Management was abusive and manipulative. HR was aloof and it was near impossible to actually talk to a live person to resolve issues when they arose. Chain of command changed so much it was nearly impossible to reach out for basic needs such as tech support and payroll. In addition to this, when one finally was able to identify the department or team needed emails would go days and even weeks before getting answered and it was the same for phone calls.
Benefits were ok but the statements were very hard to decipher, I was cheated out a weeks wage and was never able to resolve the issue because the person I was forced to deal with did not speak english well and wasn't able to decipher my pay records or understand the case I was making.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To start with try valuing your employees. Make it easier to communicate within the corporate structure. Screen and train management to a much greater degree e.g. it is not appropriate for a manager to call an employee a moron and get away with it repeatedly. Other minor suggestions do some research on what a healthy work-life balance is.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Some recognition in real-time and over time.

    Cons

Wage p/hour doesn't increase. Not the healthiest working environment. Don't have your own personal work-space.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Assign personal space, or @ least limit to a specific amount of designated users over shifts. Build in cost-of living as well as time and merit raises.

Current Employee - Channel Management in Rochester, NY (US)
Current Employee - Channel Management in Rochester, NY (US)

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

The Channels Organization is growing and a good place to be. The partners are not employees and the go to market strategy is through indirect sales. Working alongside independent business owners is very rewarding and challenging.

    Cons

Xerox company culture has declined into a very negative environment. While evolving into an indirect sales company, Xerox has not promoted senior level managers and mid level managers who understand and appreciate channel sales. Leaders approach the business from a direct employee standpoint and programs are designed to promote direct employee motivations rather than entrepreneurial business owners interests. The leaders are not aligned with the company direction and induce friction amongst the partner - corporation relationship.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Xerox senior level leaders should listen to their middle managers and top leaders should place senior leadership positions with those who understand indirect channels and whose experience is in the indirect channels organizations. Real leaders listen to understand while others simply hear to respond.

    I worked at Xerox

    Pros

Learned quite a bit. People I worked with were great for the most part. Was a convenient location.

    Cons

You were just a number. Felt like you had one foot on a banana peel most of the time. Management was not very people oriented. Numbers only driven.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Drive the numbers, but learn a personal level of management. Without the people there are no numbers.
