Former Employee – worked at Yahoo
Pros – * It's a great atmosphere to work in
* Surrounded by fun, young and friendly colleagues
* Fantastic work/life balance. Plenty of people ride their bikes to work and use lunch breaks to go for run/swim.
Cons – * Reshuffles of the internal organisation management structure every few years
* Heavily focused on using technology to communicate, most people will instant message each other rather than talk/call
Advice to Senior Management – Take a more strategic approach to next steps and new initiatives. Especially when it comes to internal company organization and structure.

Former Employee – worked at Yahoo full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Nice perks, when I started they had great parties and awesome summer company outings. That all stopped towards the end of 2009 into 2010 to save money. Great bunch of people to work with and easy access to tools for personal and professional growth.
Cons – Poor communication with employees. It took forever to get answers because everyone was in a meeting all the time. How do you get work done if everyone is in a meeting? Then to cut costs they started sending jobs overseas. It was hard to watch.
Advice to Senior Management – Better communication with employees. Everyone is so guarded that things don't get done in a timely manner. Stop sending jobs out of the country. People right here need to work.

Current Employee – been working at Yahoo full-time
Pros – Significant change, renewed innovation, amazing co-workers/culture, great salary/benefits
Cons – Still a lot of middle/sr mgmt hanging on that should be gone. Not much job growth happening in LA.
Advice to Senior Management – Take the YEES results seriously on an individual basis, weed out poor management based on these. The seem ignored in that regard. Provide a better channel to report management issues. The public forums/voting only work for some things.
