The primary responsibility of the eCommerce Solutions Engineer is to provide solid and innovative solutions for the Corporate eCommerce Departments products. Working closely with product management and development, the eCommerce Solutions Engineer plays a critical role in leading the design and development of large eCommerce sites as they translate the product requirements into a clear and rewarding experience for the users.
Work with the Technical Project Manager/Product Manager to translate the customer requirements into a working solution.
Coordinates with application developers, managers and product application experts to ensure that required features and modifications are included in the appropriate releases to support cross-product features and to communicate architectural designs and standards.
Defines and approves application standards and specifications
Evaluates new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities into eCommerce products. Acts a liaison between third party vendors and company to procure, develop and/or integrate their applications into company products and to ensure that applications are in accordance with company product standards and guidelines.
Provides analysis and design reviews to other department members to avoid duplication of effort in solving the same application problems with different products.
Consult and assist customer or third party integrator to develop CRM\TIBCO interfaces to our products' APIs (XML).
Provide technical training to the eCommerce development/QA staff.
Build and support infrastructure for Developer and QA environments and frameworks.
Provide support for eCommerce Infrastructure and hosting platform.
Provide support for eCommerce global Content Management System.
Application configuration and development.
MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIRMENTS
21 years of age, proof of eligibility to work in the United States, High School diploma or equivalent, communicate effectively in English both in oral and written form, interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts, maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering VCR standards, work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to obtain a Passport and have the ability to travel.
SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS
5 years experience in eCommerce Application Development. Must have a 4 year college degree in related field or related work experience. 6+ years of experience in website or web application development. Solid understanding of eCommerce principles and methods with the ability to develop clean and elegant solutions to complex design problems. Excellent interpersonal and presentations skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups to all levels of organization. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Proven ability to coordinate with multiple groups, including product managers, creative designers, software developers, and senior executives.
Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned. Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives. Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner. Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness. Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
