AppFolio is looking for an Agile Coach to join our engineering team in Santa Barbara, CA. The ideal candidate empowers teams to step up and organize their own work in order to become highly productive. The ideal candidate has a passion for bringing out the best in teams and actively encourages teams to reflect and improve their ways of working.
Responsibilities

Coordinate daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives

Help teams identify and remove impediments

Help teams optimize throughput and eliminate wasteful activities

Encourage visibility

Create an environment of trust

Facilitate continuous improvement via regular retrospectives

Reinforce and provide just-in-time mentoring on Agile software development techniques

Coach team members to take ownership, self-organize

Encourage teams to work together to establish best practices

Organize teambuilding events

Experience and qualifications

Experience with Scrum and playing a ScrumMaster role

Ability to coach highly experienced Agile teams

Ability to put others before yourself

Understanding of software development and SAAS

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, mentoring skills and facilitation skills

Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Lean, XP, Scrum, Kanban, CI, TDD, pairing etc.

Excellent relationship building skills

Knowledge of accounting and property management a plus

Bachelor's degree
