Undergraduate Finance Assistant Student Placement

The business is currently looking to appoint an Undergraduate Finance Assistant Student Placement on a fixed term basis of 12 months to start in Summer 2013.
This role is an ideal opportunity for an undergraduate to join the Financial Controlling team in our Coty Beauty Division, supporting the team in all areas of management accounting, planning and analysis. Assisting the Business/Financial Analysts in providing decision-making support to the commercial teams.
These opportunities offer a great deal of exposure and insight giving valuable experience to support the ongoing business/finance related studies of the candidates.
Main Tasks and Duties
Monthly Reporting
§ Assisting the team in preparing Monthend input and journals.
§ Owning all data and producing monthly management reports.
§ Preparing, maintaining and analysing Coty Beauty Export customer wholesale model.
§ Maintenance of Essbase Profit model structure for Customer & Brand. Actuals load from SAP (General Ledger) into Essbase.
§ Assist team in producing financial packs for Coty Beauty UK & Export monthly management meeting.
§ Assisting the team in the preparation of ad hoc schedules/reports for Coty Beauty UK & Export management.
Annual Planning & Quarterly Forecasting
§ Assisting the team in gathering data and preparing Customer & Brand margin models for analysis.
§ Assisting Business Analyst in preparing fixed cost planning models.
§ Assisting the team with adhoc analysis and reporting to support the planning process.
§ Assisting the team in producing Corporate and Export management summary packs
§ Preparing and owning data load files for Corporate consolidation software.
Adhoc/Projects
§ Customer Profitability Analysis Assisting the Business/Financial Analyst to understand the key drivers of customer specific marketing expenditure on a quarterly basis.
§ Financial Analysis and decision support for Commercial team.
IT
§ Developing an understanding of Coty Software (including Sales Reporting, Essbase, SAP, HFM, Zylab) and assisting the team in utilising technology to enhance the quality of financial reporting
Experience and Skills required
§ Previous finance experience not essential however ability to understand the key elements of the role is essential and an interest in pursuing a career in Finance
§ Sound knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint software
§ Strong analytical skills
§ Financial awareness
§ Excellent organisation and prioritising skills
§ Ability to work effectively to deadline
§ Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and ability to build strong working relationships
§ Experience of working effectively in a team
§ High levels of accuracy when working with figures, attention to detail and ability to determine control checks
§ Sound modelling skills
§ Tact and diplomacy are essential.
§ Be able to deal with different types of personalities and prioritise demands on time.
