Good standard package, used to be much better with Defined Benefits.
Overall the benefits are good
Benefits are pretty standard for a large company, but the salaries have not kept pace with the market.
Very good environment. Great benefits. Great learning. Flexible
Excellent Benifit Package managed by sunlife
Does not inclue health benefit
For a Canadian, pretty complete coverage and lots of options. Make sure you optimize the Pension Match. But remember for things like glasses, medical extra etc you can leverage the benefits. If you're working from the Toronto Lab, there's many other perks- free snacks (apples, m&ms, healthy and non-healthy). Free breakfast on Fridays! You can use the Lab address for package shipping. There's a lot of social things going on there, for those who have time. You also get about 3-4 "floater" days off each year (can't remember exact #). And those are great too. Depending on your manager, you might have a lot of flexibility for days off, but it all depends on your manager. Core working hours are 10AM-4PM, so you can work your 8-hr days within that range (ie 10-6 or 8-4PM). This is GREAT if you have young kids and need to do dropoff or pickup from daycare. At 8200 Lab, There is also a gym with pretty good hours, I think until 7 or 8pm. Has machines and workout room, changeroom/showers. Plus it's a great campus for jogging since its surrounded by a woody area.
Insurance, holidays are great however there are no extra bonuses available which is surprising if you are working for a CIC Center
As an intern, no benefits
The package is average in the market. The health benefits use health spending dollars so you can tune it to what is most needed for you.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
