Since thales is a defense company, the staff are allowed to sign up for private health insurance for defense which is a neat save, compared to original health insurance prices.

Health insurance available for the higher level employees. Sites vary in benefits. eg. Melbourne offers subsidised public transport, but other sites do not. Bonuses not always fully paid, as some incentives are based on individual performance, and others on how your particular department did. I wouldn't count on the bonus elements too much, unless you work in sales. Sick leave is good - if you run out of sick leave and can't return because of a medical condition, they support you with up to 6 months of extra sick leave. Stock options available every other year. Head office provides snacks like apples and nuts. Gym membership (or subsidised) is available again only on some sites. There are employee discounts for some flights (deals not that great) and things like HP (very good discount) etc.

Depending on the Level of Responsibility, in Australia you may receive a health plan (Hospital only for new recruits, Hospital + Extras for some existing staff < 2015). Annual bonuses are available at some levels however they are assigned in December and only paid out in April.

Base salary is a little below market for the same job title. Variable compensation plan is heavily taxed in Australia (more than 40% is deducted from the 8% bonus)
