How's the work life balance for someone transitioning from big tech to Expert Partner at MBB? This is for a Software Engineer track in AI/ML domain Bain & Company McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group
Hi folks, I’d love to learn some networking tricks from you all. When attending an industry or academic conference—especially when you’re the only person from your team or company there—how do you successfully mingle and connect with others? I sometimes feel a bit awkward during networking sessions, especially when everyone is standing around with wine and many people seem to already know each other. How to approach and join a group conversation without feeling intrusive? More in comments…
When applying to Experienced Hire roles, do we need to have a good reason to apply to an office in city where we've never been? Or do offices not care and just need to fill roles ASAP based on relevant experience?
[US-based] Looking for transparent compensation comparison. This image was floated around in the past. Full comp info for Bain and BCG. Questions: McKinsey & Company are you in-line? Bain & Company NAP seems to put you way over BCG at senior levels. Is this accurate? Does it get fully funded? Then Bain & Company and Boston Consulting Group what % of people get this bonus? And % more? How much more? Apologies if asking too much, but this helps everyone push their firms.
Have an interview for Sr. Product Manager at Bain and Co. TSG. What is the culture like on the administrative side? Anything I should be aware of?
Might be very few data points on this one OP. My guess is that as always it varies and may be negotiable, depending on what you’re bringing to the table. I’d say an appropriate range could be anywhere from 30-50k at that level, potentially more. For reference, UGs and MBAs entering MBB may receive anywhere from 5-35k, including lateral hires.
lol may god prevent you from doing estimation work… if MBA gets 35k then partner should get a bonus at least in the 150k-200k range. That said, they’re a lot more unique and valuable as revenue generators, so I’d expect much higher guarantees. They might not even get traditional singing checks, but guaranteed year-end bonuses!
Partners can make up to a 60% bonus based off of performance and new business.
Definitely more than this - I came in as an associate and got a 20k signing bonus
Usually depends if you were from a target school / MBA program. Did you come in as a lateral?
Lateral hire here who came in as a PL. Signing bonus offered was 30K, I negotiated to 40K but it was a pain and BCG took a while to confirm because they had to get some approvals. But frankly, I regret joining BCG.
