Do aerospace and defense clients drug test?
I like my job alot. I work with smart people. I have a ton of flexibility. All in (salary, bonus, equity) I make $300k mcol. It's kind of a dead end, I'm not gonna make partner and it's PE backed so I could lose my job at any time. At some point I'll probably be laid off because that just seems to be the new reality. I struggle with looking for a new role because I like my role. But also I feel lazy just chilling. Sanity check if I should try to jump and get back on the escalator or enjoy it?
Would you take a $20k bump to work in person 5 days/week? (Remote Fridays in the summer) & there’s a chance the company will eventually go back to hybrid. you also get the flexibility on ur work hours so could do a 7am-3pm schedule to avoid traffic
Anybody else have a harder time getting a job after leaving McKinsey than before you joined? Exited the firm over a year and a half ago and I have not been able to secure an offer ANYWHERE, despite having many interviews.
I was just terminated from the deals group. I’ve let myself go in terms of my health and weight. I figured I’d use a good chunk of the severance time to get in shape over the summer and focus on my health but my friends and family are pushing me to find a way to juggle both and call me crazy for taking my time. My plan is to build a morning routine of fitness and work that into my new schedule when I’m rehired. Any thoughts ?
Which programming language should I learn to break into technical roles related to AI. I have a non-technical consulting background and am currently looking to expand my skills.
Previously worked for a smaller dod contractor, they never did, but could. Larger ones like Raytheon, Lockheed, etc, can drug test their own, but would be surprised if they could force drug tests on consultants. The bigger issue is the clearance. If you have a clearance or are getting one, they have inquired or will inquire into your past drug use. A couple points: 1. Weed won’t mess you up if it’s recreational 2. Don’t lie. If they found out you lied about something on an SF-86, pretty sure it’s a felony, at the least it will preclude you from a clearance. Finally, once you HAVE the clearance, the expectation is you’re an upstanding citizen and would never smoke the devils lettuce :)
Most do. If DoD contractor, you oftentimes need a clearance as well.
Well shit
Lol just lie as long as ur friends arent idiots.. its a felony but they hardly ever press charges- worst case is you cant ever get a clearance, but if you have done anything harder than weed you cant get a clearance until 5 yrs past the time you rolled ur balls off.
No they don’t
