PwC what’s your pay schedule? Bi weekly or semi monthly and when is it?
My patience for this job is waning… I’m 35, single, no debt - Made some decent investments last year in some AI chip stocks and now they’re coming to roost.. my brokerage account is now more than my 401k. I feel like my life is 90% work and 10% everything else. I wonder if I should take some extended time off (6mo-1yr) as I would love to actually have space for things during the week again and explore / grow in other areas of my life. Is it time?
Didn’t get promoted and thinking of leaving Deloitte for the next level at Guidehouse. It’s a title bump so I would get a raise, but I’m trying to weigh the opportunity cost of going to a “lower tier” firm known for more niche services. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you choose? Would this limit my exit opps?
Left McK as an EM for a role that offered $325k, I’m only 3 months out and competitor of company I joined wants to poach me and give 450k. I personally been enjoying my new org and it’s been such little time, however the jump in comp is substantial. How would you handle this?
How much better did your WLB get after leaving consulting? I’m moving to an internal strategy role at a client. Financial Services - Banking. In consulting - standard day was closing my laptop between 9pm - 10pm and eating dinner at my desk. I’m expecting industry to be better, but not that much. Maybe closing my laptop between 6pm - 7pm? I haven’t been able to ask anyone in the bank what it’s like, as this is a new team. I’m benchmarking on other client strategy offices.
I was just terminated from the deals group. I’ve let myself go in terms of my health and weight. I figured I’d use a good chunk of the severance time to get in shape over the summer and focus on my health but my friends and family are pushing me to find a way to juggle both and call me crazy for taking my time. My plan is to build a morning routine of fitness and work that into my new schedule when I’m rehired. Any thoughts ?
So a semi monthly or a 24 paychecks a year schedule. Deloitte is a biweekly 26 paychecks a year as you know.
Haha yes. I can never remember which months it would be so I was always pleasantly surprised
1st and the 15th I believe (source: my SO worked there for 6 years)
15th & 30th
Not until the 30th
