I’m curious to know how accurate salary ranges are on Glassdoor to know if they are reliable for setting expectations. I’m looking for some feedback, if you know your salary and check the salary range for your position at your organization, do you fall within the range, below, or above? Also how big is the range for your position (I.e. is it a $5K range, $10K)?
My company just slashed our On-Call Compensation structure by 50% because they claim our new automated monitoring tool reduces the manual burden. In reality, PagerDuty is hitting us just as hard at 2 AM. It feels like an incredibly underhanded way to cut total compensation without changing the official base salary numbers on our contracts. How do you collectively organize a pushback against a policy change?
Open AI / Anthropic relocation. Considering roles at these companies but they require in-office 3 days a week. Family currently not up for relocation due but we’re open to me commuting for those 3 days a week which means flying to the office M-W and home th-Sunday. Anyone else do this? OpenAI Anthropic AI
I'm an AE at Microsoft and have 'climbed the ladder' from a junior entry level vendor role. I'm learning a tonne in my current role and feel there's a ceiling to my career progression. I'm a victim of not hopping around tech companies to benefit from salary bumps. As a result, my salary and level are lower than what they should be. I have a potential opp to join Google as an AE in a different role, potentially more junior but would massively boost my sales accumen, Should i make the jump?
My organization is listed, but not my role. Comparable companies in the area are $50-100k less (Glassdoor Estimate) to accurate (Employer Estimate). The range is a $20k to $109k (Employer Est.) range and roughly $50k range (Glassdoor Est.). Even though this sounds absurd, it accurately reflects the market and salary ranges of various recent hires. This is a HCOLA and niche market, so I wouldn't take my word as law. Merely stating that, in my case, it seems somewhat accurate even though the range is absurd.
