      Jobs in Retail & Hospitality

When I joined Marriott as a front desk associate, I didn’t expect so many ways to grow. During a busy wedding season, I covered for the event coordinator one night when she fell ill. That shift changed everything—I discovered I loved event planning. Management encouraged me to join Marriott’s training program, which offers new hires pathways into guest relations, food service, and operations. In a tough economy, this industry still rewards initiative and curiosity with real career growth.

Hello everyone, I have worked across multiple departments at Marriott International, including Front Desk, Night Audit, Room Attendant, M Club, and AYS, to gain a full understanding of hotel operations. I am now seeking growth into a more advanced or supervisory role in hospitality but have been facing challenges finding the right opportunity. I would sincerely appreciate any advice, guidance, or referrals. Thank you for your support.

Marriott in Australia sucks. I'm a Titanium member (for life). Stayed across properties in Melbourne, Sydney, etc. Hardly any upgrades, no lounge access (even for hotels that have lounges such as the Ritz Melbourne), no responses to emails about gym closures, etc Really have no further incentives to stay with this chain given I've already got lifetime status.

Does anyone have experience with “Project Rates” with hotels vs the standard corporate discount rate? I’m seeing a project rate (for employees of my company) for a Marriott hotel that is much lower than the corporate rate. Does it require any special documentation beyond a badge/business card? Will they even check? I’ve never been questioned using a corporate rate code before.

New to Hyatt.. was always a Marriott girl until I’ve found it impossible to get good redemptions. I’m sitting on 150K Hyatt points and 2 FNA’s (CAT1-4). Any good recommendations for nice resorts for a week stay? Thinking somewhere in the Caribbean, but open to other suggestions- I just want to take a vacation on points somewhere nice😂

Does anyone know if Marriott status for points applies to the stay in which you earn it? I’m at 74 nights and have a 13 night stay coming up in Nov. Wondering if I should/need to stay a night before then to hit titanium first so that I get the increased points earning on the 13 night stay.

New year tip: completely forget about ENBD Marriott Bonvoy credit card… the ones that really add value for consultants travelling weekly to Saudi are either ADCB traveller or FAB travel. 10-12% cashback in hotels, way way better than the less than 5% of Bonvoy one.
