      Relationships

      works at Fathom Realty, LLC

I’m 59 years old, a contractor, and a single father of two. I’ve worked hard to build a stable life, but the one thing I can’t find is a genuine connection. It feels like every woman I meet is looking for a reason rather than a person. I’m tired of being viewed as a resource or a financial safety net, I just want to be seen for who I am. At this stage, I really only prefer meeting women over 50 who values real companionship. I'm tired of the games,is there anyone left who just wants sumtin real?

      In-House Counsel

Solo in-house and one of the more senior people at the company. Our meeting culture is terrible. People have a habit of, with 15mins to a couple of hours notice just putting a meeting on my calendar and telling me it’s happening. I’m expected to be available and on 24/7 and CEO doesn’t care. I put in some meeting etiquette questions into a company survey and got mixed results (not bad enough that CEO cared). I’m going to start telling them it’s obnoxious, but toxic CEO may get mad. Help.

      Consultant

Met a woman in Jan at a non-profit event and we hit it off. Didn't see her after that for various reasons but I've been involved with the org since. Saw her last week on a zoom call for the org and said "hi x, it's been a while." She messaged me 4 times in the chat we use for the org afterwards and another 4 times the next day with enthusiastic responses and asked what I've been up to. Also shared some personal stuff on her side. Continued in comments.

It’s wild how we’re all pretending to have it together online. Honestly? Sometimes social media feels like a stage where everyone is performing perfection. Perfect careers. Perfect relationships. Perfect bodies. Perfect morning routines with matcha and sunlight. Meanwhile in real life, we’re tired, confused, overwhelmed, winging it, healing, restarting, doubting ourselves, praying for direction and Googling ‘how to restart your life at any age’ at 2 AM.

Starting at Wiz has been such a refreshing experience! Everyone I’ve met so far has been approachable, collaborative, and passionate. The culture is inspiring, fast-paced but grounded, and it’s rare to feel both challenged and supported so quickly. I already see endless opportunities to grow and make an impact. Pros: Inspiring leadership, supportive team culture, thoughtful onboarding, high-growth environment with endless opportunities. Cons: None so far!

How do you meet and from a group of people to hang out with in NYC? Moved last year, I have different friends that I meet once a quarter for dinner, and that’s about it. They are all married so they don’t really go out or have the need to. I have no regular friend groups here and would love to form one as it gets pretty lonely sometimes. My job is fully remote which makes it harder to meet new people.

Would love to message someone for tips to make it a smooth process and validate they got their full salary for 60 days via CT Paid Leave + ML STD top up (my company policy is 100% base pay for 60 days)
