      Sia Door Supervisor
      6mo

How in the world am i supposed to get my foot in the door in security? Ive obtained my door supervisor license a few months ago, supposedly the most beneficial of all SIA licenses and all i hear is “you need to know someone” idk if its me or everyone makes it sound so easy to get a job in security but im finding it extremely difficult and really its starting to affect me a lot because ive been trying for so long. Every job post wants at least 2 years experience and its not like i can volunteer?

Yo! New to the glassdoor community. I'm here for professional reasons so figure I'll leave my basic intro here... I’m a founder and design engineer building products and working in startups, studios, and enterprise. I’m on Glassdoor looking for design engineer or design-forward front-end roles. On a personal note I like art and architecture, especially Donald Judd. Deeply interested and excited about LLMs... building all kinds of stuff lately, including some LLM-native open source projects.

Do your bosses care if your door is closed regularly? I hate working with my door open - overhearing everyone’s conversations, instinctually looking up every time someone walks past, unable to play music, just having zero privacy. But trying to determine if I can close the d*mn door without my boss making an issue of it and I’ve noticed everyone else keep their doors open

I'm trying to find a permanent role. Is Glassdoor, LI, etc. your first sources for open jobs? I've read that employers typically post openings on their company sites first before they end up on Glassdoor. If true, do I need to go to every career page of every company I'm interested in each day just to be one of the first to apply (and more likely get noticed)? Note: I'm subscribed to job RSS feeds for companies that offer them, but not all do.

Using Glassdoor to research jobs as a web developer has been incredibly helpful. I have "looked" at countless company reviews to get a sense of what the jobs are like and what the big companies really need so we can learn and adapt to fit in as the company culture is no less important than the technical skills. Researching the company and the people who have interviewed before creates a very useful knowledge base for interviewing with confidence.

The Open Door Policy is a lie. My manager’s door is only open when she’s looking for someone to blame for a metric dip. I tried to bring up a genuine safety concern last week, and I was told I wasn't being a team player. Now I just keep my mouth shut and do my job, which feels like a disservice to my patients. Is there actually such a thing as a psychologically safe healthcare workplace anymore?

A job has expired on Glassdoor for almost a week now. Why is Glassdoor still sending out emails regarding the position still be open, or 'What I need to know about it' ....in preparation for applying to it. This seems like a waste of Glassdoor resources and applicants' time. Whether Glassdoor's or the hiring company's fault to address the topic, it's still very disappointing. Clean up you your space please.
