    Current Employee - Learning Consultant

I have been working at Gallup full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of companies like to talk a big game about how great their culture is, and then it turns out that they're just paying a lip service to the idea of a great workplace culture without actually... doing anything to make it happen. At Gallup, culture is defined as "how we get things done around here" and everyone is involved in making Gallup's culture one that not only provides frequent feedback, but also makes work fulfilling regardless of the actually work I'm doing. From the CEO to my manager, there is a strong collaborative culture here where accountability is key. It's a go-getter's kind of place and ambition, so long as it's paired with phenomenal performance, is rewarded with new responsibilities, exciting work opportunities, and recognition from peers and leaders. Not to mention, people around here love it when you say you want to learn something new. I've managed to upskill monthly with the time and support I've received from my coworkers and Go To. If I take a look at my life one year ago when I first started at Gallup, and compare it to the life I have now... this may sound a little sappy but this company really did help me change my life for the better. One year ago I was stagnating at a tiny company that didn't challenge me, my manager ignored me and they didn't provide opportunities for upskilling. I was anxious, unhealthy and I could barely walk due to a back injury. After learning about Strengths and getting support from my coworkers, who have become my friends, and the phenomenal coaching I've gotten from my Go To I feel more confident and have more drive. The focus on Wellbeing, and having coworkers who are focused on wellbeing, helped get me through 8 grueling months of physical therapy (which Gallup made sure I had the time to attend). I went from a couch potato to a gym rat thanks to the resources offered here and the culture of wellbeing cultivated at this company. I have never been: physically healthier, more intellectually stimulated, more spiritually fulfilled, more confident socially or in a better position financially. I'm happier at Gallup than I have been at any other employer.

    Cons

There's a lot of change going on right now as our leadership team reshuffles due to retirements. Some people may find that sort of thing daunting, but it's also an exciting opportunity. There are a... lot of stakeholders involved when trying to get anything done, but that's only because people care so much about the work we do here.

    Advice to Management

Streamline some processes better and start hiring tech talent outside of Omaha. Otherwise, keep it up!
