Does Liberty Mutual Insurance pay for professional licenses?

Pros

Excellent training, Online and in the classroom. Liberty paid for my licensing class and allotted me time to study for my exam.

Cons

There were 4 price hikes from the time I started to just before I was schedule to come off training pay (6 month period). We were overpriced on home and auto. Forcing us to sell other carriers plans at a lower commission rate. As a new agent it made it very difficult to build a book of business. Also management made me feel as if it was my fault. My fault? The state closing ratio was less that 10%.

Advice to Management

Set realist goals based on the current state of the business and don't blame your reps for the actuary's decisions to raise rates in a very competitive market.

Does Liberty Mutual Insurance give time off to volunteer?

Pros

Great benefits, including 8 weeks fully paid leave for new parents regardless of status (father, adoption) with 16+ weeks for birth mothers No HR nonsense with raises/promotions; they let your boss decide Great bonus structure with high chance for big payouts if you perform well Paid volunteer day every year and company match to charitable contributions Strong 401k match and employer funded pension

Cons

It's a big company and can be very siloed off, so collaborating between departments can be tough Health insurance can be a little expensive, but it's the same everywhere nowadays.

Advice to Management

Work on breaking down barriers between departments. Collaboration can lead to great growth opportunities; there's no reason it should be as difficult as it is.

Does Liberty Mutual Insurance offer disability insurance?

Pros

If you feel like never getting your short term disability payments. Work here

Cons

Management not trained in how to handle disability accommodations legally. Company discrimination against middle age, educated, disabled individuals. They want people fresh out of college that just want to fill metrics that aren't customer service oriented. I have reported several complaints to EEO that I still try to work with Liberty with internally to clean up legal issues I have against them
