What is overtime like at MemorialCare?

Pros

good salary, good benefits, people are nice (ish)

Cons

This place will put your nursing license at risk. They will do to you what Vanderbilt did to Redonda Vaught. They are extremely shady, they're a union hospital but they do everything possible to stand in the way of what the union is trying to do there. They settled a class action lawsuit for scamming thousands of nurses out of their overtime pay (no joke they were telling managers to not approve overtime and for years they were documenting 0 overtime pay for many nurses). They care more about how things look on the outside in order to hide the UGLY insides of the management that runs this company. They are so obsessed with corporate BS that people in an office that have zero knowledge of what it's like of the unit put into place. Save yourself and your career and do not work here.

Advice to Management

get another job and let someone better do it.

How is the work/life balance at MemorialCare?

Pros

Great Benefits Friendly atmosphere Make a difference everyday assisting patients

Cons

Lack of flexibility in schedule Favoritism Inability to advance No work/ life balance Understaffed on the night shift

Advice to Management

Appreciate the employees that work hard for you, the ancillary staff. I worked tirelessly, and efficiently within my role as a CVT, steadfast and ready to assist patients at all times. This included even having my breaks cut short to assist patients at the drop of a hat, as I was the only technician that performed EKG tracings during the 14:30-23:00 shift for the entire hospital. For the future, it would build morale and boost department efficiency in getting STAT EKGs done timely, if you would simply invest in hiring an additional CVT to work along side the already overburdened night shift CVT that is already covering the entire hospital alone and has done so for atleast the past 15 years that I worked there as a dedicated CVT. I will always hold a special place in my heart for this organization and the department that I gave 15 years of my life to, but always remember to appreciate and listen to your ancillary staff, as they are truly the ones that know what is required for the job to be done with the most efficiency.
