Does Optus offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

Good work life balance, unlimited sick leaves, good pay, good location.

Cons

Bad management, and bad leverage of talent/resources. Power/Political play exists but not visible not upper management. Managers at Virgin Mobile tend to only promote people they like, not who have real capabilities.

Advice to Management

Be aware of the leader positions you currently have and make sure that they are professional, do not promote favouritism, make emotional decisions, and value real work values, rather perceptions of work values. The downfall reason of economy or any business at all is the bad leadership or management, getting paid too much, yet add little to no values.

Does Optus offer vision insurance?

Pros

Phone plan - they give credit and discounts on Optus phone, internet etc. Quarterly drinks - different location each quarter with 2 free drinks

Cons

Poor delivery means that sales spend most of their time dealing with customer delivery issues rather than selling. Highly segmented but interconnected. Changes made in one area can massively impact another, but until things go wrong, nobody seems to know or care.

Advice to Management

Changing telco market is causing issues as the company struggles to evolve to adapt. Their traditional telco business is shrinking, but they have failed to grasp the ICT market. Conflict within the business means that "strategic growth engines" in the business get no traction because the business still favours selling core telco. Optus will be a different company in 5 years, but nobody in management seems to think that far ahead.
