How do employees feel about PwC's hiring practices regarding hiring without bias?

Pros

This is about PwC SDC Kolkata (P) Ltd. There're no such pros about this firm.

Cons

There's no proper training for new hires and they're directly sent to the floor and are said that the real training is on the job after a few days of just briefing. Team Manager are biased and they don't promote the actual talent or someone is working. Company has a zero retaliation process. They're least bothered if someone who's good at work and leaving the company. Admin service is not good like transport condition, IT support, cafeteria is too small, condition of building is not good (old structure Southcity Pinnacle). Salary structure is very bad and is well below the market structure (compared to other Big4).

Advice to Management

They should change their attitude towards their juniors. They're so rude, even the Senior Managers are unapproachable.

Team Manager are biased and they don't promote the actual talent or someone is working.

What is the company culture like at PwC?

Pros

I have worked for PwC in our Belfast office for around 1 year and I love it. I am proud to say that I work for PwC. The company offer great benefits, good holidays, pension, medical insurance etc, one of their best benefits is their flexible working and work from home policies (and their attitudes towards both of these). The company are very focused on their employees mental health and work life balance, yes you have to work hard in PwC but the flexible approach allows you to do so around important commitments. Their salaries are fair and the opportunities for progression in the company are fantastic. Working for PwC is a career. They offer great opportunities for continuous training and development, that can be one on one, group activities or personal online learning through their learning platform. The work is interesting and ever evolving.

Cons

You do have to work hard and you can be very busy but as long as you have the right attitude it is manageable. There are obviously some politics, some people who like to work their own way and aren't onboard with the technology lead aspect of the company which can make work harder/processes longer than they need to be.
