Does Ritz-Carlton offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Service culture Great company Trainings Tuition reimbursement (up to $1000/year) Older more vetted employees were amazing and helpful.

Cons

Unprofessional staff Unfair staffing(people slept around for promotions) Managers were very poor. They didn’t get the job out of qualifications but because they were friends. (Literally signed each other’s work visa). Also, quality of life is HORRENDOUS. Overtime was required of you and it was the only way you’d get a decent check. Plus, you were required to work every holiday.

Advice to Management

Hire qualified employees. Not just people who look attractive or give a convincing argument. Many employees were clueless. I had to train my superior since she didn’t know a thing she was supposed to know.

What is the retirement plan like at Ritz-Carlton?

Pros

The Ritz-Carlton loves training. They offer a good 401k benefit and there's a lot of room for growth within the company. They have competitive wages. Lots of opportunity for innovation and growth.

Cons

No work life balance. Managers frequently worked 12+ hours and weren't effective. 6 day work weeks and coming on on your 1 off day for "mandatory" meetings were norm. Several operational managers were required to shorten their vacation time to come in when the hotel was busy, even though there were other managers available. Depending on the property, senior managers in the executive committee used negative reinforcement with employees. Meetings could be 2x or 3x as long when you have certain managers who just want to be there to rail you for everything you've done wrong.

Advice to Management

In your annual feedback sessions , if you receive negative complaints about Hotel Managers, take them seriously. If you are holding your frontline managers accountable, hold the senior level managers accountable as well.

They offer a good 401k benefit and there's a lot of room for growth within the company.

How are the career development opportunities at Ritz-Carlton?

Pros

Great learning material with mariot Family like work force People easy going diplomatic Management very grooming Good career growth

Cons

No overtime pay Work politics Favoritism occasionally with certain management .

Advice to Management

Honestly Ritz Carlton fosters a great work environment . It strives on making employees feel like ladies and gentlemen being treated like guests . However with introduction of third party restaurants to the establishment like Blounge by Buddha Bar and STK it sort of moves away from the real Ritz Carlton experience.

Good career growth
