What is health insurance like at VMware?

Pros

Good benefits including 401(k) matching, gym, health insurance, vision and dental insurance and lots of small perks. Culture is generally good, supportive of remote workers Most of the teams respects and supports female employees, they won't talk over them and always give them opportunities to speak up. Also it's a very diverse company with lots of internaltional workers

Cons

Re-org very often, twice a year and will be likely to get laid off

Growth opportunities are encouraged Self-learning is encouraged Training budget Decent work/life balance Stock EPP Free VMware licenses for self-learning Concerted effort to be inclusive

Cons

Too much "red tape" to get anything done Medical benefits aren't the best (specially dental) "Unlimited" PTO, enough said Level 1 support has high turnover and lack of knowledge delays requests

Advice to Management

Please make an effort to streamline processes. New Server request? 2-3 weeks...WEEKS! Network change request? 3 days +

Does VMware offer housing assistance?

Pros

competitive pay (though not the best), friendly team, good intern housing, smart people, free food and swag every so often, meaningful projects

Cons

pretty few intern activities, only one shuttle schedule to/from intern housing
