      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at 2U in Sept 2021

      Interview

2U reached out to me to be a teacher for one of their boot camp classes. I completed the initial screen, the follow up screen, the skills quiz and the teach back interview. I got great feedback on all fronts. I invested time in preparing for the interview and on the interview. As of yet I have not heard a word back from them as far as next steps or if I did or did not get the job. This is terrible form. I sent a few emails to follow up and I didn’t hear anything back. That is just rude. At this point if they offer me the role I am not going to take it because I won’t be associated with a shocking low level of professionalism.

      Difficult interview

      Application

      I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at 2U in Feb 2021

      Interview

Lengthy and comprehensive. In addition to up-front interviews about abilities, they'll have you teach a fake class session (while being recorded) to two "students," who then follow up with a lot of issues they're having with the school and the program that they want you to solve. The frustrating element is that they don't communicate with you unless it's in their immediate interest. Emails are ignored until your skills test results prove you're a great candidate, and then suddenly HR is willing to talk to you about the process. The final email I got from them was a "do not reply," which is pretty tactless considering how often I was in contact with the lead recruiter, who sought me out on LinkedIn.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me to convince a student who did not want to continue (paying for) the certificate program that he should stick with it. Perhaps what was most disconcerting is that for some students, this may not be the right program, but of course that's not an option you want to present here.
