      Software Technical Analyst Interview

      25 Sept 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Salt Lake City, UT
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ADP (Salt Lake City, UT)

      Interview

First of all, if you can get someone from the company to refer you, do it. It helps flag your application as a priority and will most likely get you a face-to-face interview. ADP is a big company and utilizes internal recruiters so the process goes something like this: 1. manager fills out a requisition request 2. the requisition phase takes average of 2 weeks. 3. the job gets posted on ADP's web site and released to internal candidates 4. If your resume is in the ballpark of what you are looking for, a recruiter will call you and ask some preliminary questions. This is not an interview, it's more of a screening so managers don't waste their time with people who are hugely over or under qualified. 5. If after the screening it seems that you are a valid candidate, the recruiter will schedule an initial face to face interview for you. 6. Depending on the number of candidates for the job, you may meet with only the hiring manager or you may meet with a number of people. Usually the hiring manager will interview people for a "do they fit my team interview". This is less technical. It is a little more of a getting to know you and understanding what you claim you could add to their team. 7. If the manager thinks you are a good fit, you will be invited back to interview with more company representatives. These people usually include someone from HR, a team lead that is under the hiring manager, a manager of a closely knit department and/or the hiring manager's boss (Department Director). 8. All the people interviewing will meet and share notes about candidates and talk about who would make the best fit. 9. The hiring manager the top 2 or 3 candidates to the recruiter. 10. The recruiter sends the official offer to the applicant.
