I applied online. I interviewed at AKUNA CAPITAL (Chicago, IL) in June 2025
Interview
I haven’t completed the full interview process yet, but I’ve been invited to the first round. It involves an assessment primarily focused on mental math. The questions test quick arithmetic like factorial calculations (e.g., 13! × 3) and number sequences, which are meant to evaluate numerical reasoning and speed under pressure.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One of the mental math questions involved evaluating expressions like 19 × 567 quickly without a calculator. There were also pattern and sequence problems to assess how fast and accurately you can spot trends.
The interview process consists of an online assessment, phone screen, phone interview, and final interview. The phone screen was with a recruiter, the phone interview was with a trader, and the final interview was with a trader.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at AKUNA CAPITAL (Chicago, IL)
Interview
Did the Options 201 course. It consisted of math and options questions. Top performers of the course move on to a behavioral interview. Very standard behavioral questions like "why trading" / "why Akuna".
Good. some questions are hard but others are easy, the pace is good. overall it's average. I didnt pass. I've no idea why. But I think the interview process is fair.
