      Experience Coordinator, Talent Acquisition Interview

      22 Apr 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Agero (Boston, MA) in Apr 2020

      Interview

I applied using LinkedIn, got an email about 1 week later asking for my availability for a phone call from a recruiter. She sent an informational packet about the company and "how to succeed" and a reminder email which had me excited. The phone screen was very cordial and went well, but I could tell the recruiter was not interested in speaking to me and she was strict with her 30 minute time-frame. At the end, things felt rushed and she didn't discuss next steps or tell me when I would hear from her next- very unprofessional. I asked for feedback/any reservations she had and she said, "nope, thanks for your time" and hung up. If she could tell I wasn't the right choice after a quick conversation, tell me, especially when someone is brave enough to ask for feedback. I read other reviews before my interview and noticed others with the same opinion- they lead people on and want people to be excited/think they have a great company and never follow up after one or two interviews.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

She spoke much more than I did, telling me about the position. Do you have experience with scheduling? Are you organized? What would you say is your communication style? How do you manage multiple priorities? Can you give an example of how you deal with conflict?

Thank you for sharing your feedback. For more junior positions, the first conversation is typically more one directional with the recruiters providing candidates perspective and reviewing the basics however an important component of this conversation - which doesn't sound like it happened here - is making sure the candidate is given time for questions. I appreciate the feedback - this review provides a great coaching opportunity for the team.
