      I interviewed at Amazon

      Interview

Have interviewed several times with Amazon over the years. My first advice would be to stay away from AWS, the people that I have met in my opinion do not truly represent true Amazon culture. I turned down both offers from AWS but gladly accepted an offer with another division. After working at Amazon for some time now I can say that other divisions outside of AWS are really enjoyable to be part of Now on to interviews, Amazon has a very efficient interview process. Usually a recruiter will respond to an application within a week if it's a fit, the longest I've waited though is a month to hear from a recruiter but most of the time it's on the quicker end. The longest part of the entire process throughout the multiple times I've been involved in this process is actually getting the phone screen set-up. Some of my phone screens have literally taken a month to get booked. After the phone screen if you do well you"ll typically hear back very quickly. Most phone screens with the HM you"ll hear back the next day but the most I've waited is 3 days to hear back. After the phone screens setting up the onsite are usually very easy, the coordinators are very responsive and are quick to book meetings. Amazon also pays for everything including airfare, hotels, food, transportation etc. The onsites honestly are very tiring. Your interviewing with 6-8 people for almost an hour each time. The interviews are pretty much all STAR and leadership principle focused. Despite having 10+ years of experience it can be quite tiring continuously finding examples that pertain to each question + LP especially towards the end when you've been doing it for several hours in back to back interviews. The interviewers are meant to dig deep so once you answer be prepared to answer more questions. I will say I think Amazon has some of the hardest interviews because they're so long and the bar raiser experience can vary, i've met amazing bar raisers and ones who are complete jerks. But they have a huge say in if your getting an offer. After interviews you"ll probably hear back within 48hrs but at the most a week in my experience. Pretty quick in my opinion for such a large company

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Very positive experience. The down side was there were 6 rounds of interviews in total but they were scheduled close together. Communication was excellent and a huge amount of helpful resources provided to you to help you prepare.

      Interview

Phone interview. Asked 4 typical question. The Amazon phone interview was structured and focused on behavioral questions using the STAR method. The interviewer was professional, asking about leadership principles, past challenges, and decision-making. It felt fast-paced yet conversational. I shared clear examples from my experience, highlighted results, and ended confident I demonstrated impact and fit.

It was a long but a well designed one. There are tips online that one should go over before the interview process. It can take more than one month to complete the steps, so one should be patient while taking all the tests and other stuff.
