I applied in-person. I interviewed at Andersen Bakery (Milpitas, CA)
Interview
I walked in to the store and just asked them if they were hiring, and they gave me a paper application. Handed in my resume to the manager and she set up the interview for next day at the bakery and finished in 15 mins
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Andersen Bakery (Hayward, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
Was in a new office building. One on one with the HR rep for the first interview. Wasn't called back for a second. It wasn't a summer position and would have involved travel around the bay.

Question 1
Whether the type of jobs I worked in was public or private.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Andersen Bakery (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2011
Interview
Had two interviews: One with the actual manager of the store, then one with the manager's boss after the 1st interview went well. Both interviews went smoothly, as they are mostly looking for people that have good customer service and can learn quickly. After the 2nd interview, I was offered the position and accepted quickly (College students need part-time jobs too, of course!)
