I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Apex Fintech Solutions
Interview
I was contacted by an out-of-state recruiter for a position at Apex Clearing after a couple of hour long conversations with the recruiter and researching the company, I decided to pursue the opportunity and was scheduled with HR from PEAK6, Apex Clearing's parent company.
The interviewer itself was a 75 minute phone conversation asking questions about my engineering experience with various projects and how I would respond to various scenarios. The HR interviewer did not have a technical background and seemed not to understand explanations. Person interviewing said the company would get back to me within a week or two. Several months later, no word -- not from the recruiter, not from Apex Clearing/PEAK6. Terrible communication.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apex Fintech Solutions (Portland, OR) in June 2020
Interview
Typical. A phone screen with the hiring manager, followed by a technical screen, and then a virtual onsite which included coding, design, and scenario questions. A respectable process and very fair.
