I had a first phone call with the recruiter about my profile and the role, then within a week I had a half day meeting where I had the chance to sit down with several people from the design team. I had an initial chat with a hr person about my career in general and why I wanted the job, then I had a one-to-one with a design lead where he dig deeper into my experience and the design challenges I've faced in my past projects. This part was rather unpleasant, I had met the guy before and had the feeling straight away that he didn't like me but this time he just seemed annoyed to be there, like I was wasting his time. The questions where also a bit up in the air, far from what I told him was my experience and very hypothetical. Then I did the two practical challenges. For the first one I had about 30 minutes to solve a design issue with one of their products. I had some screenshots to work on and some supporting information about customer feedback. This time I was talking to two other design leads. I sketched a few different solutions explaining my rationale, and then I presented my output to my two interviewers. They gave me their feedback straight away, which I really appreciated. The last challenge was to facilitate a design workshop. It didn't go particularly well but I tried my best and had an honest feedback when it was over. Again, it was great to know what went on in their head straight away. The two guys that interviewed me for this part were really great, very transparent and I could see that they wanted to put me at ease. By the end of it I have to admit I was exhausted, after all the process requires you to be 100% focussed for about 4 hours. I got a reply within a couple of days that I didn't get the job, although it was a close call. It was also great to hear why, something I took as advice to improve. All in all it was a positive experience, they are very clear with the process and the timings, and are generally very nice, although the interview is quite draining.
