      Financial Analyst/Accountant Interview

      7 Apr 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Milwaukee, WI
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Baird (Milwaukee, WI) in Mar 2016

      Interview

The process started with a phone interview with a recruiter. He called exactly when he said he would and it lasted roughly 30 minutes. After that, the recruiter emailed to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. Again, the hiring manager called when she was supposed to and the interview lasted 30 minutes. The next step was the first round of in person interviews. This consisted of 3 separate 1-on-1 interviews with managers within the department that again lasted 30 minutes. The questions were very specific - meaning they wanted to you recall when you have experienced certain things or accomplished certain things on the job. Each person came in with a list of prepared questions to ask, and they were all pretty similar to one another. Then, after hearing that he received "great feedback" from my first round of interviews, a second round of interviews was scheduled. This time it was 5 (!!) one on one interviews, again each lasting 30 minutes. The questions were very similar to the first round, and in some cases they asked the exact same question. Two weeks later, I received the dreaded "Dear John" letter in which they informed me that they would be proceeding with a better-qualified candidate. It was a long, arduous interview process that for me, did not have a happy ending.
